DAY1: ARRIVAL IN DAR ES SALAAM, TRANSFER TO SOPHIA HOTEL (BB).
DAY 2: PRISON ISLAND, CITY TOUR, NORTH COAST.
Arrival in Zanzibar at 0900am by Ferry from Dar es Salaam, put your luggage in our vehicle and depart for Prison Island excursions.
Prison Island was formerly owned by an Arab and was privately used as a place of detention for disobedient slaves. It was built in 1893 as a central prison for Zanzibar, hence the name “PRISON ISLAND”. You will be able to see Giant Tortoises, Dik dik, Peacock, Prison Chambers, Mangrove forest and perhaps swim and snorkel if interested.
Around 1pm we will come to stone town for lunch followed by a city tour.
,we will have a chance to visit Town Markets, old slave markets, National Museum, High court building, Old German Consulate, Africa House (former English Club), Tippu Tip House and Grave, Kele kele square, Old British Consulate, Orphanage home, Old Fort, Forodhani Gardens, House of Wonders, Sultan Palace, Dr. Livingstone House, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Old Mosques, Freddie Mercury House among others.
In the evening we will drive to Nungwi (NORTH COAST) for dinner and overnight at: AMAAN BEACH BUNGALOWS for dinner and overnight.
DAY3: MNEMBA ISLAND TOUR (DOLPHIN TOUR, SNORKLEING SWIMMING).
You will have a chance to swim with Dolphin at Mnemba Island followed by snorkeling and swimming in this beautiful Island in Zanzibar.
In the afternoon you will relax on the beach waiting for Sunset cruise in the West coast (KENDWA).
Dinner and overnight: AMAAN BEACH BUNGALOWS.
DAY4: SWIMMING WITH SEA TURTLE, THE ROCK RESTAURANT, AND JAMBIANI.
After breakfast we will drive to BARAKA TURTLE AQUARIUM to swim with them followed by a visit to Boat yards to see how different traditional canoes and boats are made.
In the earlier afternoon we will drive to JAMBIANI BEACH (EAST COAST) via THE ROCK RESTAURANT for lunch.
Dinner and overnight at: CORAL ROCK BEACH RESORT.
DAY 5: BEACH RELAXATION.
This is a free day to relax on the beach and choose what to do in JAMBIANI.
Dinner and overnight: CORAL ROCK BEACH RESORT.
DAY 6: FREE BEACH RELAXATION PAJE.
Dinner and overnight: CORAL ROCK BEACH RESORT.
DAY 7: BLUE SAFARI, FUMBA VILLAGE.
Arrive at Fumba village (0900am) where our sailing boat will be awaiting to take us to Kwale Island for BLUE WATER SAFARI – The highlight of Zanzibar. We will sail in a beautiful traditional wooden dhow, watch Dolphins (if we have a chance of seeing them) at play, snorkel over the reefs of Menai Bay conservation area, feast on a swahili influenced seafood buffet that include Fish on coconut source, Rice, French Fries, Calamari, Lobster, Prawns, tropical fruits etc. We will visit a Baobab tree believed to be more than 500years old before sailing back to Fumba village and drive to your hotel for dinner and overnight: MARUHUBI PALACE VILLAS in the South – West Coast.
DAY8: JOZANI FOREST/CHEETAH ‘S ROCK.
After breakfast you have a choice either to visit JOZANI FOREST OR CHEETAH’S ROCK.
We will have another 2-3hrs of exploring the only National Park in Zanzibar to see Jozani Red Colobus monkey, Mangrove forest walk, and butterfly Centre (if interested) OR:
Cheetah’s Rock (see the attachment about cheetah’s Rock).
Dinner and overnight: MARUHUBI PALACE VILLAS.
DAY9: SPICE FARMS, STONE TOWN BACK HOME/NEXT DESTINATION.
You will have a chance to eat, smell and taste different fruits and spices to learn why Zanzibar is called a spice Island. Lunch
Will be in the farm to taste spicy food prepared by local women group there.
In the afternoon we will drive to stone town for your last shopping and later catch a Ferry/flight to Dar es Salaam for another 2hrs to experience the city.
